DOE Distributes Fifth Round of Grid Resilience Grants

Two states and three Tribal nations receive a combined $34 million.

The Department of Energy recently distributed the fifth round of funding through the Grid Resilience State and Tribal Formula Grants. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law set aside $2.3 billion for these grants to upgrade America’s energy grids within five years. This fifth round of funding will distribute $34 billion to Missouri, North Carolina, and the Micmac, Miccosukee, and Washoe Native American Tribes.

“Every community deserves a strong and reliable energy grid that can deploy cleaner, cheaper power to homes and businesses, while keeping their lights on during extreme weather,” said Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm. “Thanks to the transformative investments in grid infrastructure under President Biden’s Investing in America agenda we are strengthening America’s workforce and preparing the nation for a more resilient, clean energy future.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Granholm to look to the Lord for guidance as she heads the Energy Department.
  • For U.S. energy officials to be discerning as they allot grant funding for power grid resilience.
  • For the recipients of the grants to utilize the funds efficiently and effectively.
